These cozy, chunky rib knit organic wool socks come up high around the leg, making them just right for cold winter days underneath winter boots. These socks are extra thick at the sole with a thick wool terry sole and keep baby's feet cozy, warm, and dry on the chilliest of winter days.

The manufacturer includes these elastic threads because without them, socks made from only natural fibers will not stay up around the ankle. Ordered these in size 21-22 for our 14 month old daughter. Her foot is 12cm long and these are very bulky if worn alone, but perfect as a second layer sock. They're very thick and cozy, and they go up pretty high on her calf. They aren't too tight, so they seem very comfortable on her legs. I'll mention that I also ordered the two-tone socks from Hirsch Natur in the same size, and those are smaller and fit as a first/only layer sock, and are tighter around the ankle.
