Extra thick, chunky organic wool terry socks, just right for winter time! These cozy wool socks come up high around the leg and are very thick, designed for wearing with wide-fitting wellington boots or wide winter boots.

Made by Hirsch Natur, these socks are 100% organic wool*, certified by IVN and meeting the GOTS standards. Hirsch Natur is a family owned German company that has been manufacturing exceptionally high quality socks and tights for over 70 years.

*please note that these socks have several small, elastic threads woven into the very top section to hold them up around the ankle. The manufacturer includes these elastic threads because without them, socks made from only natural fibers will not stay up around the ankle. The elastic threads have minimal, if any, contact with the skin. The fabric itself is made from 100% organic wool (no synthetic materials)*

A little on the extra roomy side but is what I expected from the description. Would be perfect with boots or baby hikers.

We recently went to the east coast and used these during our outings in 30-40 degree weather. They worked really well and were nice and thick!

Very thick like other reviewers have stated, slippery too. I put them on underneath my daughter's swedish moccasins or boots that are just a little big and it works really nicely in cold Minnesota weather. I would say they run a size big, but my daughter is pretty small for her age so it's difficult to say.
