I bought these shoes for my 2.5yo as her outside play shoes when she needs a more durable and protective shoe. The leather is incredibly soft. She's jumped in puddles a few times, and the leather has returned to its original softness after a coat of leather conditioning balm. She's able to put these shoes on all by herself, which makes her very happy. The sole is flexible for a durable outside shoe. The leather gets dirty quickly due to the natural dyes and treatment, but I'd rather avoid as many chemicals as possible at this age than be concerned about aesthetics.
